The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog while a gentle breeze moved through the trees. Learning to type accurately takes practice, patience, and steady rhythm. Keep your hands relaxed, watch the text, and focus on consistent keystrokes rather than rushing through every sentence.

How this typing score is calculated

This test runs for 30 seconds. Its displayed speed is the number of whitespace-separated words typed in that interval multiplied by two to estimate words per minute.

Accuracy and scoring limits

Accuracy compares each typed character with the character at the same position in the sample, then divides matching characters by the total characters typed. Extra characters count against accuracy; the WPM score is based on entered words and does not subtract errors. Treat results as a practice snapshot, not a standardized assessment.

Practice consistently

Use the same keyboard, language, and test duration when comparing sessions. Aim for clean keystrokes first; speed tends to be more useful when paired with accuracy.
